New House at Northmead
Here are the cover and frontispiece of the first of the Northmead books, New House at Northmead, published by Nelson in 1961. It was followed two years later by Northmead Nuisance. It is a school story. Elizabeth is upset that she has been made head of New House rather than Clarke's. And when she sees that Nicole Charteris and Kay Crawford are also in the house, she feels that the year will be a dismal failure. How will things turn out? We'll have to wait and see...
